Goods Moving Insurance and Valuation
Valuation coverage can be very complicated.
Please read the following information carefully:
It is important to understand how much the mover
is responsible for any lost or damage.
The valuation statement on the bill of lading
governs this. The minimum coverage required by
law (included in the rate given) is called
carriers liability insurance.
If an item is lost or damaged, you would receive
$0.60 per pound. (Most of the times it doesn't
cover the actual value of the item). For
instance, if the mover damaged a Dresser that
you bought for $200.00 and it weighed 100
pounds, you would only get $60.00 as
compensation.
Extra coverage is optional that you can consider
